We’re constantly impressed by the driveway designs potential clients come to us with. We believe it’s our can-do attitude, backed up by our 22+ years of experience, that convinces them to let us handle their asphalt driveway or other project. It’s usually the feature edging that really sets a driveway apart, check out some of the options below, and then head to our feature edging gallery page for more examples.

Driveway Edging

The best way to finish your asphalt driveway is with feature edging. It’s traditionally done with bricks or pavers but there are a number of options, all of which really accentuate and frame a bitumen driveway. Feature edging is definitely growing in popularity, especially in the inner Eastern suburbs. In fact, we recently laid over 1km of driveway brick edging in a single month. Here are some of the options:

Brick & Paver Edging

Typically laid end-to-end or side-by-side; bricks are perfect for complementing the colour and style of your home.

Stone Edging

Rock and blue stone edging, while a little more expensive, can definitely bring a uniqueness to your driveway and home. A recent client chose blue stones to line her asphalt driveway and path to the front door. The blue of the stone, against the charcoal of the bitumen worked great together and really complemented the period home it accompanied.

Timber Edging

We only use high quality treated pine. It’s great for edging, especially if you’re keen to have consistent curves in your design. We anchor the timber every 50cm to ensure it won’t move. Why not do your bit for the environment, using wood ensures the carbon trapped in the wood will remain there for many years to come.

Rounded Edge Stamp

This edging technique doesn’t require additional components, it simply involves us using an edge stamping tool to compress and round the edge of the driveway. While not quite as hardy as using one of the edging options mentioned above, it’s still strong and will last for many years. We wouldn’t offer it if we thought it would let our clients down.
